Nana Akufo Addo has made it known that his salary has been reduced by 30%

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, has revealed that he has reduced his pay by 30% due to the country’s current suffering, which has seen a dramatic decrease in the living conditions of the typical Ghanaian.

He made the solemn announcement during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebrations at Independence Square, while also revealing a 50% reduction in fuel for government machinery.

According to him, all ministers and government appointees are not exempt from the 30% salary cut.

We are all going to have to make some sacrifices to afford us the space to navigate the troubled waters of the current economic difficulties.

He said

Ministries, departments, and agencies’ spending has been reduced by 30%. All appointees’ salaries, including mine, have been lowered by 30%. Fuel coupon allocations have been cut in half, and other expenses have been halted.”

His administration has also announced a 20% reduction in funding for metropolitan, municipal, and district assemblies (MMDAs) for the first quarter of 2022.
